Our second vintage from this vineyard in Lodi! Cherryhouse Vineyard, home to beautiful 48-year-old vines sits on the west side of Lodi in the Mokelumme River region and does not drink like most Lodi Zins.
Owned and farmed by the Perlegos brothers, the same family that own and farm the famed Stampede Vineyard. The fine sandy loam soils are lighter in color and have much less clay than other Lodi Zin growing regions. Truly, this vineyard is one-of-a-kind and so is the wine.
Deep notes of black cherry and rose petal meld together and bring a slight lifesaver gummy tinge to the nose. You’ll experience foggy forest floor and fresh pine needles as a secondary note to entice you. On the first sip, ripe, but fresh, you’ll find confident, bold, dark flavors of blackberry, brambleberry, and blackcurrants. Pleasantly weighted with fine-grain tannins, a soft entry builds and leads to a broad, full finish.
