Cherryhouse Vineyard, home to beautiful 50-year-old vines sits on the west side of Lodi in the Mokelumne River region and does not drink like most Lodi Zins. Owned and farmed by the Perlegos brothers, the same stewards of the famed Stampede Vineyard, Cherryhouse is home to fine, sandy loam soils that are lighter in color and have much less clay than other Lodi Zin growing regions giving this wine a balanced minerality and more softness. Truly, this vineyard is one-of-a-kind and so is the wine.
Anise, strawberry jam, and red berry syrup will fill your nose right before your first sip. You’ll experience a delicious light fruit bomb of strawberry-rhubarb compote and dried apricot. This wine slides gorgeously from start to finish –– pleasantly weighted with fine-grain tannins, a soft entry builds and leads to a broad, full finish.
