Produced from mature vines on our estate, we performed a row by row selection and picked for flavors at the peak of ripeness. From there, the whole freshly-destemmed berries were pumped directly into new French Oak barrels whose heads had been removed. By fermenting directly in the new French Oak barrels, we are able to impart an added silkiness to the tannins and a rounder, more lush mouthfeel to the wine.
A dark and deeply captivating wine filled with scents of truffle, cassis, fig, spice box and espresso. The wine is seductively packed with layers of concentrated pure dark blackberry, current, sweet cassis, dark chocolate and minerals. Gorgeous textures and vibrant acidity that continue to unfold with each sip, this wine is built to last and will age gracefully for the next 25 to 30 years.
