Talk about a dark new fetish.
Paso Kink is our very first wine from Paso Robles, and we think we're hooked. We have long loved and admired this region and after several years of waiting, finally got to check it off our bucket list. Paso Robles is one of the most distinct viticultural regions in California, with insane day-to-night temperature swings and legendary calcareous soils. See a few million years ago, Paso Robles was largely under the Pacific Ocean, and today its limestone soil is the perfect place to plant red grapevines. The soil has god-tier drainage and the relatively higher acid levels in the fruit at harvest supports mouthwatering flavor.
A blend of 33% Petite Sirah, 23% Mourvèdre, 14% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Grenache, 11% Syrah, and 7% Malbec, this wine is all about a dark, powerful core of flavors. Petite Sirah, as you know, has no hard limits or safe words, and here it contributes big, dominant flavor and color. The Mourvèdre and Grenache aren't cucks or subs here and insert a sexy breath of freshness that makes this wine moan. To preserve this freshness, we aged the blend in large, 400 L "puncheon" French oak barrels for 18 months to limit oxygen exposure. Basically breath play, but for wine.
The result is equally erotic...and kinky, with glossy black fruit flavors dripping with complexity. Black raspberry, chocolate-dipped strawberries, and blackberry syrup wrap around white pepper, licorice, and (black patent) leather. All this edging and denial leads to climax with tightly bonded tannins and explosive intensity. This wine really satiates our darkest fetishes.
Now when it came to making a label, we thought we couldn't be the only winery with a foot fetish. Turns out...we are. There, it's out there. So we cobbled together some of our favorite cuts from our collection of vintage shoe catalogs and bondage magazines. We still can't believe other wineries aren't into this. Fuckin' weirdos.
