2019 Wasted Love, Rosé, California

“They told me that you were really bad news. They said you were no good for me. They told me you were a bad, bad person. But you seem alright to me."

Wasted Love Rosé is the spiritual successor to our much-beloved Stars Like Ours. A wildly fresh, bright Rosé to remind you that summertime is coming.

If you dig the light, crisp, drinkable styles of our previous Rosés, know that Wasted Love is our best accomplishment to date. Pale salmon in color, with aromas of fresh-cut strawberry, ruby grapefruit, jasmine, and a hint of bubblegum, this is a wine that will leave your mouth watering. Take a sip and ease into the cool, bright flavors of bing cherry, lychee, and notes of orange blossom, and rose petal. This wine is clean and crisp in texture with bright acidity and a refreshing finish.

We owe this masterpiece to our amazing winemaking team, who each harvest challenge themselves to elevate quality and character. While many Rosés are bled-off byproducts of Red wines, we approach Rosé with intentionality, picking each variety early in harvest specifically to make Rosé.

With Wasted Love, we chose Mourvèdre, Grenache, Cinsault, and Counoise, a combination that our winemaker, Bertus, loves for their flavor and acidity. For this vintage, we bought a new press that can more delicately draw juice from the grapes without extracting harsh textures. We then whole-cluster-pressed each variety to minimize color extraction and preserve the smooth, fresh characteristics found in this Rosé.

The 2019 growing season had a very cool start so we were able to really dial in our harvest date to keep with our goal of producing a Rosé in a Provencal style that also shows a bit more of the floral and delicate fruit notes that the vineyards we work with are capable of.

Inspired by a vintage '70s punk zine cover, we brought it all out for the label: faded jeans, some mid-drift, a dash of rebellion, and the most powerful word we know: LOVE, emblazoned on the belt buckle. And that's what it's about, chasing love even if they tell you not to, even if it breaks your heart. Love is more powerful than regret and sometimes you gotta break the rules to get it.

They really hit it out of the park with this one! It is a delicious wine that just screams "drink me" on a warm spring day...or any day. Don't hesitate to grab a case of this to have on hand for easy get-togethers.

Quarantine got you down? Put a little love in your mouth! Mourvèdre is pretty much my favorite varietal. I geeked out when I saw it in a rosé. This crisp refreshing breath of spring does not disappoint! Don’t order this by the case. I want more. :-p

I don’t know how the Tank rosés keep getting better and better. The fruity crispness of this one is well worth the purchase now to get you in the mood for summer.

Another awesome Tank rosé! Nice and crisp and I love that it’s based on Mourvèdre (I always love wines that use this varietal). Can’t wait for summer to enjoy this outdoors!

This was my first taste of Tank winery, and boy was I surprised! The Love Rose' was excellent- just perfect for my taste buds, and at a decent price as well. Will definitely be restocking this soon.

Every Rose' gets better and better coming out of Tank Garage - just when I thought it wouldn't get better than Joy Ride. We will be back for more, these went way too fast.

Delicious rose! Had it at the garage last year and was excited to order more to enjoy at home while sheltering in place - it helps bring the outside in. Smooth, light crisp and perfect with just about any meal or snack.

This rose is KING! I usually buy a case or two (just kidding mom) of Stars Like Ours for summer, but this will be my new summer rose. Actually, I'll probably buy both because they're both INSANE. So crispy, juicy, and just yum! Tank...you NEVER disappoint!

This is a great Rose! I think it drinks best alone. Great to sip on the patio.

If there's one thing that Tank does well, it's make very tasty rosés. This falls hot on the heels of one of my favorite wine's ever (Stars Like Ours). At first I didn't think I would like Wasted Love cause I held SLO in such high regard, but wow has this wine surpassed my expectations. Great by itself in the sun and warm weather. A great warm spring, summer wine.

I love this wine. When I was in Napa in February, for the first time, we stopped at Tank. I loved the place. We arrived right before closing and had a few samples and left with a couple of bottles. I saw the rose come up in my email and have ordered 3 times. The taste is light and refreshing!

I am in love this rose. I bought 6 bottles anticipating I’d love it and I do. Chilled a bottle and invited friends over and they liked it too. Definitely getting more soon!

I love this rosé and I have tried a lot of them... wasted love is perfect for a warm day or a cold day because a good rosé is not a seasonal need. Reasonably priced and delicious so I buy it by the case.

Wasted Love is really a good.I was never a fan of rosé till I tried this one. In my opinion, it could go well with seafood with cajun sauce or any spicy dish or by itself. I was lucky enough to be able to secure 2 bottles when I saw their post on IG. One of the best part about it is that after finishing the whole bottle I didn't get any hang over from this wine. I'm not sure if it's just me, but normally I do get hang overs from wine. I really like it and I will order more when it becomes available again.
