contains two bottles each:
2018 Money Honey, Red Wine, Fox Hill Vineyard, Mendocino County
We've been doing some cool shit with Sangiovese lately, and it makes up 65% of the blend here to create a foundation of acidity and tannins to layer the other varieties on top of. Next 25% Primitivo, 8% Negroamaro, and 2% Dolcetto add body, flavor, and soul. A bright, elegant wine, this wine is all about layers. At first glance, it's a lighter, elegant wine with notes of tart cherry, tobacco, figs, and brisk acidity from the Sangiovese, but let it linger and wait for the ripe blackberry and blueberry flavors to start sinking into your tongue. Perfectly oaked, with some pretty minerality, this is a wine that can show you a bit of everything.
2018 Somewhere Out On That Horizon, Red Wine, Fox Hill Vineyard, Mendocino County
This Italian blend brings our old friends Primitivo and Sangiovese back to the table along with a new guest, Negroamaro – a southern Italian grape whose name translates to “black” and “bitter." It gives this wine notes of dark chocolate, coffee, and stout. Primitivo, otherwise known as the alter-ego of Zinfandel, lends flavors of ripe blackberries and blueberries, while the Sangiovese adds great acidity and notes of red fruit.
