2020 Contact High, Skin-Fermented White Wine, Sierra Foothills
Right off the bat, you’ll notice the beautiful golden haze in the glass. Inhale bright and vibrant notes of golden apple, apricot, and lemon zest. Exhale those bad vibes. We’re celebrating flower big time and, in this case, we’re talkin’ honeysuckle for daysssss. Get ready to hop on the pineapple express with some lovely fresh vegetal elements of fennel frond with a mild puff of ground white pepper. Contact High has body -ody -ody with a creamy finish, in a lemon zest panna cotta and pear tart kinda way.
2020 Pleasure Trip, Pét-Nat Sparkling Wine, Sierra Foothills
Comprising 85% of this blend, Barbera strikes back for the first time since our iconic Pop-Nat sparkling wine from years back. Barbera is an Italian grape known for its color, flavor, and acidity, and creates a sparkling wine with a crisp juiciness that's deliciously trippy. We sourced this from one of our favorite places in the Sierra Foothills, the Sierra De Montserrat Vineyard in Loomis, California. The blistering hot days and cooler nights help develop intense flavor and structure, which is just what we needed for this wine. To shake things up, we cut in 15% Marsanne, a white Rhône grape, from the David Girard Vineyard, which adds a pear-like tartness we adore.
2019 Spiritual Thirst, Red Wine, Amador County, Shake Ridge Ranch
Tasting this wine is a journey in itself. At first glance, you’ll notice the rich plum color with a ruby core and faintly pink rim. The aromas wafting from the glass remind us of a foggy morning walk through a dense forest. Notes of leather, blueberries and violets combine with cedar and wet rocks for a truly enlightening experience. The palate is meaty and complex. Upon your first sip, you’ll be met with savory, fleshy notes with tons of baking spice. Blue and black fruit open up on the textural mid-palate with notes of sage and violet on the finish. The tannin structure is delicate and well-integrated with edgy acidity and faint smokiness. A perfect accompaniment to summer grilling sessions, Spiritual Thirst is a wine you’ll be reaching for time and time again.
